IMG_8447Evelyn Bailey, executive producer of Shoulders to Stand On, will receive the Community Service Award at the May 17 EPSA Spring Dinner in Rochester, NY at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.  The reception begins at 5:45 pm and the dinner begins at 7:00 pm.

According to ESPA, "Evelyn is an educator, political activist and historian who has led the LGBT movement with posts at many different community organizations and initiatives. Most recently, Evelyn's commitment to record the work and progress of our community turned into a decade-long project to chronicle Rochester's robust LGBT history, which inspired Shoulders to Stand On, a documentary film from the Gay Alliance, Rochester, NY."

Evelyn was also honored by the Greater Rochester Area Branch of the AAUW (American Association of University Women) for her work documenting Rochester's gay history. The award was presented during the International Women's Day celebration on March 8, 2014.
