The Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley received a letter from the Arts Council today announcing that
they approved our application for a 2013 Decentralization Community Arts
Grant of $5,000. This grant is contingent on the Arts &
Cultural Council's receipt of funding from the State of New York.
Kevin Indovino, Producer/Director of STSO Documentary, said he was
pleasantly surprised to have been awarded the grant, and for the largest
amount of money the Arts Council gives. Shoulders to Stand On has also
submitted a Letter of Inquiry to the Phil Zwickler Foundation
requesting $5,000. We will also apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to
$15,000 from The Playboy Foundation, Arcus Foundation, the Rochester
Area Community Foundation, and the LGBT Giving Circle!
The Arts Council Grant brings our money raised for Editing to $10,000. We have reached 33% of our goal of $30,000!!!
